“Design Claustrophobia”

Yes, I often get design claustrophobia. It happens when I enter small spaces that have been cluttered with stuff. Oh, the horror! My most recent encounter occurred when I went to visit my daughter’s dorm room – and it brought back old memories of the horrific design faux-pas of my youth.

Now, I’m an interior designer by trade and I cringe at the site of my old dorm-room pics. I write this blog as a public service for those of you who want to avoid design claustrophobia, but just don’t know exactly how to get started. The truth is, there are many tips you can employ to make your small space seem larger (instead of small and cramped).
